I have always believed that women feel the most confident when they are comfortable. With so much going in our daily lives, we should wear clothes that make us feel good about ourselves. I have made this a priority in my line, so much so that actively wear every piece I design to make sure it stands up to these core values. Along with comfortability, I also believe that clothing should serve multiple purposes. Therefore, I also create designs that are meant to be dressed up and dressed down. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that my customers are walking around with a piece that I designed, that is hopefully adding value to their life making them feel comfortable and confident!

My name is Ellena Affah and I’m the founder of Naturalhairrockss a company I started in the university at age 20 . Back in school it was a struggle getting styling services as there was little or no access to natural hair salons so I started offering styling services from hostel to hostel . I graduated from university and in 2017 I officially launched our hair extension line here in Africa . I started producing premium fiber pieces that blends perfectly with natural hair cause it was a struggle getting matching pieces and the ones we could eventually get had to be ordered from overseas and it was pricey . Our units are handmade with love her in Nigeria by our amazing natural hair stylists which are all women . I’d say what make us stand out is our ability to think out of the box and continually make women feel and look beautiful whilst still maintaining their natural look.

CAJUN FIRE BREWING COMPANY, IS A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS. IT IS THE FIRST BLACK-OWNED BREWING COMPANY IN LOUISIANA AND THE SOUTH - ALSO CAJUN FIRE IS THE FIFTH BLACK OWNED - BREWERY IN U.S. HISTORY. The company was founded in New Orleans in 2011, and has been nationally recognized as a catalytic business that has tackled inequities within the craft beverage industry since inception. The company/LLC via its mission, "Brewing for socio-economic gains one pint at a time", has created not only an increase in civic pride but also tangible accomplishments for many community-driven initiatives. To date, the company has raised more than $500,000 for local philanthropies and non-profit organizations in the Orleans Parish community.Cajun Fire is under contractual agreement with Southern Eagle Distributors to introduce its products across eight parishes in South East Louisiana. Cajun Fire has a contractual agreement for Beltway Brewing Company (which is based out of Sterling, VA) to produce and ship flagship beers to Southern Eagle Distributors during the development of the brick and mortar facility. To date, my company has managed this with little to no outside capital support. The most recent undertaking of the company is creating a sustainable economic opportunity for growth and manufacturing that also invests in a development project dubbed 'The New Orleans East Cultural Hub'. Upon completion, this ten-acre commercial development will spur wealth creation, create sustainable high-wage jobs, increase civic pride, and drive food & beverage tourism to the New Orleans East Bullard Corridor. The project will cost 1.8 million dollars, I (Jon Renthrope) have full site control of ten acres of C-3 zoned commercial land.

Royal Jelly Harlem is an African-inspired clothing and home decorating line founded in February 2011 by mother-daughter duo Teta and Maya Gorgoni. After many trips to West and South Africa, they were inspired by the artistry of the printed fabrics. These fabrics inspired an exciting new line of fashion and home décor that would become Royal Jelly Harlem. Royal Jelly Harlem calls attention to the diversity of the African continent and its culture, traditions and art. We believe in maximizing the boldness of the fabric’s images and prints by designing pieces that embrace this art. We help contribute to the growth and prosperity of Africa’s beautiful cultures by purchasing many of our materials from African vendors. Many of our manufacturers are African-born dressmakers and tailors who produce our products in the USA. Our women’s fashion line consists of garments made of 100% cotton for the ‘jet-set’ crowd, ‘lunching ladies’ and working women worldwide! Our silhouettes are influenced by the fashions of the 1950s-60s, from slimming tent dresses and flirty dresses to ballerina skirts, tops/blouses, Capri and Palazzo pants. Our Men’s line consists of West African printed board shorts, T-shirts and Palazzo pants. We are extremely proud of our 'Made in NYC' certification. Not only do we appreciate the impact we are having on our community—supplying jobs within the USA and fostering the artistic environment—but we are able to be hands on throughout the entire process. From initial ideas to the time our products are shipped to our customers, we ensure a level of quality that is only achieved by few.
