Founded in 2019 by Ogechi Harry, and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, ụlọ offers unique, African-influenced, ethically-made bedding and other homewares.
ụlọ means home
In Ogechi’s native language, Igbo, “ụlọ” means one’s home or house, but it also means proverbially, the place where one comes from.
"Home is the backdrop to our memories and the place where stories live."
The search for more
When Ogechi was expecting her first child, she wanted to decorate the nursery with African-inspired bedding and home décor but all she could find was the typical cliché safari theme with the usual suspects - the lion, monkey, and elephant. “I wanted something that offered a more modern and diverse portrayal of Africa that reflected African experiences influenced by a global perspective. We and the continent are more complex than a safari.”
Recognizing this void in the market, Ogechi decided to change the narrative. She created ụlọ to convey the diversity of African perspectives through inspiring, premium homewares for those who, like her, appreciate a home style that reflects a global perspective.
Making a difference
At ụlọ, we are passionate about doing good. We strive to provide the highest quality products that are toxin-free, benefit communities, respect and preserve traditional artisanal processes, and are good for the environment.

Bona Fide FLA was created with Florida in our hearts and minds. No matter how crazy the rest of the country thinks we are, there is no doubt about how proud we all are to be Floridians. In our opinion, if we did not have the best state in the country, it wouldn’t be where we live and everyone else vacations.
With that in mind, our brand is our way of showing love to the place we call 'Home'.
Our main goal is to inspire and represent Florida in the best way possible. Bona Fide FLA also aims to connect with other small businesses and create a thriving community that can help grow, uplift, and support each other.
Giving Back to the Community: Through our subsidiary group, 'The Collective SBMG', we are currently building and collaborating for the greater good of our youth's future. Plans for a future percentage of each sale will go towards a fund for young entrepreneurs that are seeking to fulfill their dream of owning their own business.

Our company idea started two years ago in Colombia mountainside when we had an idea to pursue a dream. Years later that original idea of bringing the highest quality products has intersected with sustainability. Now the Thomas's brothers plan to keep the momentum going in improving everyone's at home experience!
An average widowed mom trying to build a movement! Join us! I am a mom, worker bee and average Joette who has a lot of skin sensitivities and my kids have inherited that legacy. After trying various products and wasting lots of money on expensive soaps, lotions, oils etc I decided to study herbology and make my own. My concept is quality ingredients. Innovative packaging and unique ideas. I love history, pop culture and having fun. We pride ourselves on our customer service and our ability to foster our customer base here and on facebook. I am working on adding product almost daily and have future plans for a sleek, cool, definitive line of male products. Check me out on my Youtube Channel and Facebook. Just click on the links here. Stay tuned.
