HOW NATURELLEGROW HAIR PRODUCTS BEGAN. Established in 2011, NatruelleGrow is a healthy hair product line created for women who want to grow long, healthy hair. The Beginning: Founder Renee Dawes, who, like many people, was fooled into believing that long, healthy hair was limited to genetics. “I had always dreamed of having long, healthy hair,” says Dawes. “For years I struggled to grow my hair beyond my neck, but to no avail.” After years of relaxers, thinning and breakage, Dawes stumbled into becoming a natural after keeping sew in weaves beyond the timing of her touch up appointments. As a natural, Dawes recognized a better growth pattern, but she needed the right products to continue her growth stimulation and retention. In her continued search for long hair, Dawes tried every hair growth “potion” on the market. It is no secret that many naturals are product junkies but she even went as far as buying an electric machine to electrify her scalp into growing hair! Dawes soon discovered which all-natural ingredients were most beneficial for growth and was able to combine these ingredients using the most effective methods and process. “I learned to properly care for my hair and Voila!!! My hair began to flourish,” says Dawes. As a seven-year natural with hair at waist when fully lengthened, Dawes’ remarkable success in her hair growth and retention journey sparked interest in family members who desired similar results. After they used the products and received the same effects of phenomenal hair growth, the demand for her products skyrocketed. I crafted my first hair oil in 2014. It kept my hair glossy, my scalp nourished and many asking what I put in my hair to smell so good. I continued to experiment and test a wide variety of oils and balms to find what worked best on myself and my two daughters. I pursued my love for natural products while balancing motherhood, a full-time career in the technology sector and trekking around the globe for work. My travels fueled my passion to create an all-in-one multi-tasking beauty blend that traveled well and I could use on my face, body and hair. During my career and travels, the lack of women and lack of women of color in technology became very obvious and I've always been inspired to be a change maker in this arena. That is why KynKia is committed to empowering young girls to succeed through giving back to STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) and STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) programs. My company, KynKia was established in 2019 with the encouragement of family and friends. It is named after my two daughters and represents our collective quest for authenticity, creativity and supporting others. KynKia is the intersection of knowing what you want, creating what you can’t find and sharing it with others. Bare Your Hair started out of desperation of being bald ! I noticed my first bald spot on my wedding day, and a friend of mine colored it in with an eye liner pencil. I was SO embarrassed and I couldn’t enjoy my day because I was worried that someone would notice my bald spot. That was December 30 and by June 29 all of my hair was completely gone! I would go into Corporate America daily with my bald spots colored in to avoid having to answer questions about the patches of hair missing. My first summer bald I completely embraced my bald head and decided to be confident in every aspect of myself! My focus has always been that if my scalp was healthy I would have healthy hair. Torrian Denise, a nail technician and salon owner for many years, was always on a quest to find products that would moisturize my client's hands and feet. In 2001 I was introduced to Raw Shea Butter and began creating a natural foot butter to use on my clients especially during the cold winter months.
