I'm Kesha Young, Founder and CEO of YLC Candle. This business was inspired shortly after my father's passing. In 2017 I started playing around and it became an outlet to comfort and joy. It brought excitement and happiness within. Filled some of the missing voids in my heart. My company is UNIQUE because we make candles from the heart. We always ensure that our ENERGY AND INTENTIONS are Positive. We are here to Spread Good Vibes, Peace and Love.
Hello, we’re Kim and Linda – two sisters just one year apart in age. We’re more than biological sisters – we’re best friends. We were born and raised in northern California, after our parents migrated from Louisiana. Naturally, we have always been very close – even now that we are well into our . . . well, let’s just say, forever 39’s. Kim is the youngest (as she likes to remind me), and is the outgoing social butterfly. I am the more mature (yes), reserved, and observant one. Our company, Linda Christen Designs is a collaboration of our creativity and desire to bring freedom and confidence to women’s daily beauty routines.
Our Passion
We are ambassadors for women, providing fashionable and functional hair accessories so we can feel beautiful and empowered anytime of the day. Our products are designed with timeless appeal to provide daily style and effortless on-the-go beauty options.
Our Dream
We enthusiastically desire to inspire woman to live in truth, freedom, and confidence. To empower all women to embrace and nourish their natural beauty and to become their most authentic self.

A Leap of Style empowers the modern woman to express her inner confidence. This black-owned clothing brand specializes in bold, yet classic designs. The designers ensure that your piece fits and flatters your shape. The pieces are all made iwth integrity and will work for every aspect of your life - from work to date night, church to brunch. The designers at this black-owned business love the intricate textiles from Africa. Many of their designs incorporate Ankara, a type of wax printed fabric worn in West Africa. Sometimes, they venture out into other textiles too. For example, they use the earrings and ruffle collar made from Baule cloth. This textile is handwoven off the Ivory Coast by the Baule tribe. These fabrics are vibrant, and they display the cultures of Africa.
Welcome to the new Abstract Fiber. Lori and Lew are the new owners since April of 2018. We're working hard to provide the same or better product quality and service that Abstract Fiber is known for. If you live in or near Portland Oregon, plan to drop by to see us - and our fiber of course - at a nearby show or fiber festival. We will keep you posted in our blog posts on this site.
African Ancestry is one of the leading black-owned businesses in operation. It helps transform the way people view themselves and the way they see Africa. Dr. Rick Kittles and Gina Paige founded African Ancestry in 2003. It is the world leader in tracing maternal and paternal lineages of African descent. It has helped more than 500,000 people re-connect with the roots of their family tree. Most companies can only tell what continent one has originated from, but not what country. African Ancestry has the industry’s largest and most comprehensive database, with over 30,000 indigenous African samples. African Ancestry determines specific countries. It can also find specific ethnic groups of origin with an unrivaled level of detail and accuracy. This black-owned business provides a unique service to the black community, and most importantly, protects the privacy of the user by refusing to sell or misuse their DNA after testing. It improves the wellbeing of people across the African diaspora and helps those across the world reconnect with their roots.
