Christen Elisabeth, the founder of Products By Lizzie, is dedicated to making individuals feel comfortable in their own skin through her all natural products.
In addition to that, Christen’s goal is to make Products By Lizzie a household brand that families will fall in love with. While mentioning the goals Christen has, she also reflected on why she started Products By Lizzie.
“I was really in a bad place with my eczema and I couldn’t find good products, so I created my own,” Christen said. Christen also shared that she started her entrepreneur journey by creating her own laundry products, which helped her skin out in many ways. Then, she moved on to creating Products By Lizzie.
Eczema Butter and Whipped Shea Butter are just two of many products that receive a lot of praise. The Shea Butter used in the products is sourced directly from Africa. Lizzie’s whips it and adds nutrients to the shea butter to give it a special touch. Other products include Artisan Crafted Soap, Beard and Hair Oil, and more. All of these are high quality and all natural products.
From a businesswoman standpoint, Christen gave some advice to those who are stepping into the world of entrepreneurship. “Do your research and go in with a bang. Don’t be so fast to quit your 9-5 job,” Christen said. Full-time entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, and it requires resources and planning that oftentimes is harder to execute as a Black entrepreneur.
She also expressed that funding yourself is very important and that it’s okay to have a regular job on the side because we all have to start somewhere. Christen also shared that it is important to remain yourself throughout the process. “Stay humble and don’t let the hardships get you down. Remain supportive of others as well because we all have room to win,” Christen said. Here at Nile, we are all about everybody winning, so we agree wholeheartedly.
