Birth by our love for food, DVees was founded by four sisters; the Aghoghovbia Girls. The name DVees was coined from the fact all our names start with the letter ‘V’, The Vees eventually became DVees. Growing up with parents who showered us with love, food was one of their expressions. We spent many nights ‘gisting’, laughing and creating beautiful recipes, many times with mum and dad. It is no surprise food became a big part of our lives. Our love for food is our family heritage. We grew up with a dad who loves good food. We had numerous cooking and baking sessions with him, from making crab soup to homemade cakes. He always came home with food from the latest restaurant he discovered or the staples like suya from the family country club in Lagos; Ikoyi Club. While he encouraged the flare for the western twist, Mum made sure we knew how to throw it down in the kitchen African style. With her occasional and often spontaneously organised cooking lessons, we were well equipped to prepare authentic African dishes. Our love for food has built a desire to share our rich culture and heritage which celebrates food, our unique burst of flavours and the ingenuity of West African cooking. We are passionate about pioneering West African fine dining and flavours through the creation of unique products. We are celebrating East African producers and redefining what healthy snacking means. As first-generation Ethiopian American I wanted to start a business that empowered farmers back home and introduced people to teff grain. Snacks that give back, with Ethiopian inspired flavors. We are dedicating to honoring the origins of teff grain by. investing in the sustainable cultivation of this staple food in order to catalyze economic impact in East Africa.

My name is Hepston H. Henry II. My mother is from St. Croix, and my father is from Jamaica. Growing up, one of my fondest memories was the house booming with Soca and Reggae while my mother and I whipped up several herbs and spices into a unique blend for our Caribbean dishes. My father and I would then use this blend to season the food for the grill. As we sat on the patio, the silence was broken up by intermittent laughs, him sipping his beer, and guidance of how to man the grill, and life in general. I have kept these memories and my family secret blend of spices with me A.L.L. these years, and have incorporated it into my own cooking. I watched close friends enjoy my cooking and my family recipe; now I would like to share it with you A.L.L.  Some of the strongest values of my family were God, Love, Loyalty, Hard Work, and Willingness to Help! These are values I exhibit in A.L.L. aspects of my life. I take pride in the product I'm sharing with you, and I hope you enjoy a little bit of my culture in every bite you take!

It was initially created more than 25 years ago in the tiny home kitchen of Founder Pat Bennett to fulfill her desire and need as a young working Mom to create better food for her growing family. The line of gluten free granolas, Tropical, Ginger Spiced and Peanut Butter contain delicious organic and nutritious ingredients and is made to satisfy the tastes of health conscious consumers with busy lifestyles. It is available in 4 and 8 ounce sealed packages; can also be purchased wholesale.
